A variety of instructional methods are used depending on content area. The methods will be designed to assist the students in enhancing their critical thinking skills. Leads School of Technology(LST) provides a coordinated range of academic support featuring:

Students will learn via formal lectures, audio-visuals, cooperative/collaborative learning, laboratory practicum, demonstrations and hands-on practice in clinical facilities
 
The method of instruction at the Leads School of Technology is innovative in nature, with a comprehensive and meticulous curriculum that was developed, implemented and tested by veterans in the respective fields
   
The library is equipped with computers, high speed internet and network connections. The computer assisted learning is is located in library and consist of computer assisted instruction programs that offer students a complete foundation for competency in performing clinical skills  they will use in the clinical  setting: It consists of interactive CD-ROMs and DVD with comprehensive procedures and  rationales demonstrated in realistic video clips, animations, illustrations, and photographs.
 
For each skill, students will review : equipment, preparation, procedure, purpose, post-procedure, expected outcomes and documentation. Students will experience a real-life demonstration of  therapeutic communication between nurse and client, cultural, gender, and age diversity.

A fully equipped Nursing laboratory center is available for all students. Methodology will be selected to best meet student needs. As a student in Leads School of Tech, LPN  program, you will begin to gain valuable clinical experience, as well as classroom education, through the use of the state-of-the-art nursing skills lab.

 
The learning laboratory, consisting of nursing skills and physical assessment lab, provide students with unlimited opportunities to see, learn and practice nursing skills and procedures in simulated settings.  The nursing skills lab is a simulated health care setting, equipped with life-size manneguins, adult-size hospital beds  and cribs, bedside stand,  over-bed table, a sink, skill equipments and supplies. Students will practice psychomotor skills from the basic bed making to the more complex skills such as urinary catheterizations, tracheostomy and colostomy management.
 
There are network computers with selected nursing software connected to wall mounted projectors for demonstration of clinical skills.Students are supervised by faculty members while gaining confidence in skill acquisition in a protected and safe environment.

The classroom offers the following learning resources:  

   
  • Smart Board: The  classroom  is equipped with a “smart” board. This is a touch-screen board connected to the computer and digital projector. Utilizing the finger, the instructors can control the computer applications as with the power point, write notes using dry eraser marker, pull up charts and images, search the internet, play audio-visuals and save the work for future use.  
  • Computer with basic word processor, power point, spread sheets and database programs.
  • Wall projector and audio-visual for power point presentation and illustration
  • High speed Internet connection for quick reference check, demonstration of facts,research and e-mail.
  • NCLEX practice programs to help students prepare for the State Board Licensing Examination
